ABOUT THE BOOK Social exclusion is as old as society of India. It persists across the world. In contemporary period, it has rapidly increased in various domains of India including social, cultural, economic, educational and political. Most significantly, both caste and class statuses of Dalits do contribute in the formation of a new type of social status among them.ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jitendra Ram is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociological Studies, School of Social Sciences and Policy, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya Bihar. He is one of the founder members of the Department. He did his MA. M.Phil. and Ph.D. in sociology at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He started his academic career in Sociology in 2012 at the postgraduate level courses in the Central University of South Bihar and participated in several national and international conferences, seminars and workshops.
